Basket Information
The Three styles of baskets shown on this page are currently available. La
Mer means the sea; La Vie means life; and La Terre means the earth. Built to
last many trips to the market, our baskets are incredibly strong and durable,
featuring soft leather trim and strong leather handles. Baskets have lots of
great uses in addition to shopping ~ picnics, the beach (baskets LOVE water),
boat rides, laundry, or a weekend out of town. We believe that once your
household discovers the many uses of market baskets, you will find that you
need more of them! A wooden hang tag is tied onto each basket with jute
string. The Jeanne Beatrice logo is laser engraved on both sides of the tag in
dark brown.

Each basket is individually hand-woven in Morocco, after which the leather is
sewn on by hand. Because the baskets are handmade, each is unique and will
vary slightly. It is easy to reshape a basket if you choose to do so (sometimes
this is necessary after shipping). Just hold the part of the basket that you
would like to reshape under water for about thirty seconds. Put something
heavy in the basket so that it holds the shape you want, and let it dry!
